For many, Memorial Day, is the unofficial first day of summer – a season many associate with outdoor activities and lots of time in the sun. It is the perfect opportunity to provide education about sun safe behavior to protect against skin cancer.
The National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention (NCSCP) has designated the Friday before Memorial Day as “Don’t Fry Day.” This year, Don’t Fry Day is on May 22.
NCSCP is comprised of more than 45 organizations, associations and federal agencies. Every year it amplifies its mission to prevent skin cancer through education, advocacy and awareness by providing free Don’t Fry Day materials and resources and encouraging its members and others to promote the day.
Be sure to check out Don’t Fry Day resources if you can help spread the message to encourage sun safety awareness!
