The New Jersey Senate Committee on Education unanimously voted S. 1803 out of committee. The legislation ensures K-12 students can possess and apply sunscreen at school without a note from their physician.
ASDSA Member, Deirdre Connolly, MD, testified in support of the legislation during the Committee’s hearing and the SUNucate Coalition sent a letter of support. Although it is late in the year, New Jersey’s legislative session is a two-year span and the legislation will carry-over to 2019 if not acted on this year.
