SUNucate is starting 2018 off strong, with numerous bill introductions and hearings. Currently, thirteen legislatures have introduced SUNucate:
- District of Columbia
- Georgia
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Kentucky
- Maryland
- Michigan
- Missouri
- Mississippi
- Nebraska
- Oklahoma
- Rhode Island
- Virginia
Additionally, Colorado is also pursuing SUNucate through regulatory measures.
Our SUNucate Coalition has grown to nearly 50 organizations, with state dermatology societies and medical societies becoming formal partners. We’re excited to have new organizations on board:
- Illinois Dermatological Society
- Maryland Dermatologic Society
- Missouri Dermatological Society
- Nebraska Dermatology Society
- Nebraska Medical Association
- Rhode Island Medical Society
Furthering the momentum, ASDSA became an associate member of the Council of State Governments (CSG) and submitted Utah’s SUNucate bill to the 2019 Shared State Legislation (SSL) Committee for inclusion in their 2019 SSL Volume. CSG membership is comprised of state elected or appointed officials and the SSL Volume is shared with state leaders as legislative ideas for their consideration. During the December 2017 meeting of the SSL Committee, over 100 bills were submitted and ASDSA is proud that SUNucate was one of 26 bills to be approved for the 2019 SSL Volume.
